Logan Grenley

Grenley comes to First Point after a stint as both a major gifts officer and head of alumni relations at the University of Illinois-Chicago Athletics.  Prior to UIC, Grenley served as Director of Volleyball Operations for 

Indiana University women’s volleyball for two seasons, Operations Intern for the 

University of Miami football 

program,

program, and Assistant Director of Volleyball Operations at the University of Maryland where he also played collegiate club volleyball.

John Speraw

Chairman

 Head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Volleyball Team since 2013.  Head coach of UCLA Men’s Volleyball since 2012. Led U.S. Men’s National Team to Bronze medal in 2016 Rio Olympics and the World Cup Gold Medal in 2015. Joined the U.S. Men’s staff in 2007 under then head coach Hugh McCutcheon. In 2008, the U.S. Men won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Head Coach UC Irvine winning 3 national championships in 6 years. Has been a part of 8 NCAA men’s volleyball championship teams. 

Marin Gjaja

Vice-Chairman

Senior Partner & Managing Director, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) based in Chicago. • Leads BCG’s system of offices in the US Mid-West.  35 years of volleyball playing and coaching experience, including Boston University Men’s Volleyball Club, Seaside, Chicago Bounce and Adversity Volleyball clubs. Three-time All-American  

Wade Garard

President

Career in philanthropy, entrepreneurship and consulting.  Served as Founder & CEO of First Point Volleyball. Served as CEO of CRG Fundraising Counsel from 1994-2006. Oversaw 42 capital campaigns and worked on 18 university campuses. Served as Executive Director of Phi Kappa Psi Foundation from 2006-2012. Planned, organized and managed a national $21 million capital campaign from start to finish for national foundation with $38 million in assets 

Bruce Lincoln

Treasurer

President, Innervizion Surf Company. Serves as Director and Chair of the Audit Committee for the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, the President of The Camil Van Hulse Foundation, as the Director of Real Estate at LFM Inc., where he managed acquisitions, sales, accounting, and property management of a commercial real estate portfolio in Arizona and Hawaii; and previously served Arizona Public Service.  Graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northern Arizona University.

 Co-Founder and Director of the Andrew Family Foundation and Andrew Trust Company.  Principal and Co-Founder of Wonder Worldwide.  Executive Committee and limited partner of Arizona Diamondbacks MLB team.  Trustee at The College of Wooster and The Summit School of Ahwatukee. Director Globe Corp, Globe Trust Company, Globe Foundation and Hall of Flame Firefighting Museum. B.A. from The College of Wooster (’85). M. Sci. (’90) and Ph.D. (’96) in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University.

Brian Firring

Director

A Private Wealth Financial Advisor based in Beverly Hills, CA.  Managing $1.8 billion in custodied assets.  Named Best-In-State Welath Advisor in 2020.

Colleen Craig

Director

Former D1 Volleyball player and dual-sport athlete at Cornell University.  Harvard Business School MBA.  Most recently was the Founder and COO of a global hedge-fund Ardea Capital  Management.  Previously, Head of Strategy for Soros Fund Management. Partner and CFO at ApolloMD, one of the largest healthcare companies in the US.  Held leadership roles for ChasePaymentech and Accenture.  Co-founder and CEO of Rally Volleyball.  

Doug Beal

Director

Widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in volleyball worldwide. Member of U.S. Men’s National Team 1970-1976.  Head Coach, Team USA Men’s National Team 1977-1984 & 1994-2004, leading Team USA to its first-ever Gold Medal. Coached Mediolanum in Milan for two seasons, winning the FIVB Championship in 1990. Inductee into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame. Harold T.  Friermood Award recipient. USA Volleyball’s CEO 2005-2016.  

Doug Thompson

Director

Served as Chief Operating Officer of Texas Roadhouse a position he assumed in 2018 overseeing operations that supports a 600+ store restaurant company with a 2018 revenue of $2.4 billion. Like many Texas Roadhouse employees, Doug worked his way up starting with the company in 2020 as a market partner before being promoted.  Thompson has experience as a unit operator with Outback Steakhouse and Bennigan’s Restaurants  

Thompson's son, Nate, is  currently on Princeton men’s volleyball team.   

Glen Lietzke

Director

 Founder of Austin Junior Volleyball in 1984. AJV Volleyball Club has graduated over 500  college volleyball players. AVJ has built three multi-million dollar facilities in Austin and has donated over $150,000 in volleyball equipment to local schools. Previously, Head Coach, University of Wisconsin and Assistant Coach, University of Texas Women’s Volleyball for 17 years. Inducted into the AVCA Hall of Fame 2018. Received the George J. Fisher Leader in Volleyball Award in 1998.  

Gordon Redzic

Director

Chief Technology Officer at daVinci Payments, Chicago-based FinTech company.  Vice President of Product Development at Sleep Number from 2014 to 2018. Past Director of Product Management at Paylocity.  BS from Loyola University Chicago, where he founded and was the President of the Club Volleyball team; MS in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA  from Northwestern, Kellogg School of Management, where he played on Kellogg’s volleyball  club.   

Greg Moore

Director

 Moore is the Commissioner of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), a NCAA DII Athletic Conference.  His role focuses on the negotiation of corporate partnerships and conference media rights agreements among other things. Moore served as General Counsel for the ABA franchise Jersey Express Basketball Club, has taught Master’s courses at Georgia State University’s Sports Management Program, member of  Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and author of "Searching for Michael Jordan

Jennifer Palilonis

Director

 Director of Center for Emerging Media Design & Development (EMDD) at Ball State University. Holds Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction from Indiana University School of Informatics &  Computing. Directed team in the development of First Point’s storytelling campaign nationwide.  Author of two books: "A Practical Guide to Graphics Reporting", and "The  Multimedia Journalist".  Received the National Journalism and Mass Communication Teacher of the Year Award in 2013.  

Kelly Goodsel

Director

 CEO & Owner, Viking Plastics. Member of the ownership group, VPI Acquisition, LLC. Holds dual BS degrees in Plastic Engineering and Sales & Marketing from Ferris State  University, and an MBA from Temple University. Head Coach, Corry PA High School Volleyball Team, 2016 Pennsylvania State Championship. 

Kenny Rogers

Director

Rogers spearheads First Point's initiatives to grow boys' high school volleyball, and increase diversity. Served as CEO of the Fulfillment Fund focused on making college a reality for students growing up in under-resourced communities. Served as Executive Director of California Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Graduated from Princeton after being a two-time Ivy League MVP. Masters's degree from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.   

Mark Fishman

Director

 38 years in the investment management business and now manages his family office. Most recently served as CEO and CIO of Aesir Capital Management - a spin out from Diamondback Capital Partners - ACM was an equity and fixed income investment platform managing ~$1.2b. Mark spent much of past decade coaching professional beach players such as Reid Priddy and Theo Brunner, Casey Patterson & Stafford Slick, Todd Rogers, and Amanda Dowdy.  Mark has been a club Founder and an Assistant Commissioner. 

Mick Haley

Director

Haley spent 17 Years as Head Coach, USC Women’s Volleyball as its winningest coach in program history, and was recognized as an AVCA National Coach of the Year, Volleyball Magazine National Coach of the Year, and twice PAC 12 Conference Coach of the Year.  Spent 17 years as head women’s coach at the University of Texas, winning two national  championships. Haley began his career coaching men at Kellogg Community College. Member of AVCA and Ball State Hall of Fames among others. 

Paul Tashima

Director

Managing Director, UBS Financial Services Corporate Cash Management Group.  Barrons Top 100 Advisors List 2016 (ranking 15th nationally). Received a Bachelor's degree from UCLA and an MBA from the University of Chicago. An avid indoor and beach volleyball player, Paul also coaches club volleyball in the  Chicagoland area. 

Scott Stowell

Director

Served as CEO of Standard Pacific Homes from 2012 to 2015 during which he oversaw the acquisition of Ryland to form Cal Atlantic. Served as Executive Chairman of Cal Atlantic Group from 2015 until 2018. Oversaw the merger of CalAtlantic with Lennar Corporation and has since served as a Director on Lennar Corporation’s board since February 12, 2018. Serves on the board of Pacific Life Insurance Company. Serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of HomeAid America. 

Scott Siegfried

Director

Serves on the board of the Rocky Mountain Region of USAV Volleyball.
Thanks to the leadership of First Point board member Scott Siegfried, Colorado (CHSAA) sanctioned boys volleyball in 2019. First Point Volleyball Foundation seeks to follow his leadership to have high school boys volleyball sanctioned in all 50 states.
